“But you shall utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites and the Amorites, the Canaanites and the Perizzites, the Horites and the Jebusites; as the Lord God hath commanded.” - Deut. 20.17,18

The belief that we are ‘the chosen people’, and that others are not, is the seed of holocaust. Jewish Holy Cause - God has given us the land; Aryan Holy Cause - the Ubermensch, Superman or Superior Race; Communist Holy Cause - Dictatorship of the Proletariat; Christian Holy Cause - Jesus as the Only Savior; Islamic Holy Cause – Jihad for God; Capitalist Holy Cause – Democracy of Profit-Seize. All the same sad delusion, that my life and that of those like me is more important, more noble, more Holy, than the life of others.

There is a unity to Spirit, and life is a whole. But what is the difference between a whole and a hole? Only a ‘w’ double ‘u’; double you. To understand that you and I are each other. Our appearance is different; the divine spirit which animates us is the same. When I ‘double you’ – back you up, support you, aid you, treat your life as equal to mine, then life is whole, and life is holy. But if I deny your right to be, if I do not see your divinity as my own, then I have torn a great hole in the whole, lost the double-you. My holiness is holey. I have become the holey cause, the holo-cost, the illusion of divinity.

This card asks: where does your illusion lie? If you must sacrifice yourself or others to serve your Holy Cause, there are serious holes in your Holiness.
